The senator also pointed out that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has openly expressed his desire to unseat him in the next election. “They’re gonna spend $100 million the next year trying to flip Texas blue,” Cruz warned.

Despite its success in apprehending over 470,100 illegal immigrants, Allred voted against federal funding for the operation.

The senator’s concerns about border security and illegal immigration are not unfounded. Even some Democrats, like Gov. J.B. Pritzker and Gov.
