The White House Press Secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, called out Twitter after it locked her personal account after sharing a story about Joe Biden’s involvement with his son’s business associate in Ukraine.
On Fox News, the White House Press Secretary accused Twitter of censorship and bias for its act of banning only those content that “hurts the side of the aisle that Silicon Valley prefers.”
Moreover, McEnany also cited how the social media giant allows articles that accuse President Trump of collusion with Russia, even after the President cleared such an issue on his impeachment trial earlier this year.
She also revealed that the lock on her Twitter account was permanent unless she deletes the said tweets that she made. The White House Press Secretary described this scenario as if she was being “held at gunpoint” by the social media platform.
The blockage of her Twitter account was permanent, according to the White House Press Secretary. She said they permanently banned her from Twitter unless and until she deleted said news story reported by the New York Post.
‘This is censorship, this is not the American way, this is not how a freedom-loving democracy operates,’ McEnany said.
The news story that McEnany refers to was the exchange of emails retrieved from Hunter Biden’s laptop. Since it went out in public, the Biden campaign hasn’t disputed yet about its authenticity. In relation to this, McEnany said, the Biden campaign had the chance to dispute the authenticity of these emails on the day it circulated, but they didn’t.
Based on the statement of Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, the Biden story was restricted from circulation because there was “personal information” that was contained in said post.
The White House Press Secretary reacted to this with, “Meanwhile, you have the story about President Trump in The Atlantic where you had more than 20 sources on the record disputing the content of the email.”
She further added that if Twitter can ban the White House Press Secretary of the United States for President Trump, the social media platform can ban American citizens.
McEnany also told Fox News that she believes that if that same story were about Trump, Twitter would not have banned it from being shared. She claimed, “It would be all over Twitter, it would be the top news story.” to which she added with “because there’s one standard for Trump and one standard for anything on the other side of the aisle.”
McEnany also cited how for years, Joe Biden kept denying about the issue; that Biden kept saying that he has nothing to do with his son’s business dealings. Then this email came up showing that Hunter, his son introduced Joe Biden to a Ukrainian businessman.

McEnany’s tweet that was flagged by the tech giant read,
“**NEW** Email from Ukrainian executive to Hunter Biden asks Hunter to ‘use his influence’ on behalf of the firm paying him $50K/mo in email with subject ‘urgent issue’ obtained by @nypost Father @JoeBiden was in charge of Ukraine relations at time.!!”
The New York Post story suggests how Joe Biden, sitting as a Vice President back then, had a meeting with a Ukrainian businessman after being introduced to him by his son. This meeting happened eight months before Joe Biden pressured Ukrainian officials to fire the prosecutor investigating the businessman and his company.
Censorship should be condemned!

After McEnany’s personal account was banned, she fired back at Twitter using her official government account. She wrote, “Censorship should be condemned! cc: @Twitter & Facebook, NOT the American way!!”
President Trump also blasted the social media giants saying they are “terrible” for “reducing circulation” of the New York Post article that reveals a story about his rival, Joe Biden.
