Polls Show Republican Blake Masters Gaining The Lead Against Democrat Mark Kelly

Based on recent surveys, Republican Blake Masters has taken the lead over Democrat Mark Kelly in the Arizona Senate race.

Masters Takes Lead

Masters and Kelly are tied in a recent survey by InsiderAdvantage/Fox 10 News.

Another poll conducted by Big Data Poll found Masters to be in the lead once again. With only four days until the 2022 midterm elections, the polls reflect rising optimism about a Republican tsunami.

Masters and Kelly matched with 48% support in the InsiderAdvantage/Fox 10 poll of 550 potential voters conducted on November 2. Marc Victor, the Libertarian nominee who withdrew from the race and backed Masters on November 1, still received 2% of the vote.

2% more were undecided. Matt Towery, a pollster for InsiderAdvantage, told the newspaper that Masters received greater support from Independent voters. However, according to the study, almost 15% of Republicans who self-identify defected to Kelly from Masters.

In a survey of 1,000 “very likely voters” performed by Emerson College from October 30 to November 1, Masters led incumbent Democrat Mark Kelly.

The survey was conducted on the day Victor declared his withdrawal from the race; he received 2.8% of the vote. Less than one percent of respondents were unsure, while 1.3% said they would vote for another candidate.

Notably, Masters has climbed three points from the September Emerson poll, whereas Kelly’s percentage has remained same at 47%.

Independents voted for Kelly, 50.4% to 42.1%, according to an Emerson survey, but Masters did not lose quite so much backing within his own party. 9.6% of Republicans stated that they would vote for Kelly.

Independent researcher Big Data Poll surveyed 1,051 potential voters between October 31 and November 2 and reported Masters leads Kelly by a mere full percentage point, 48.7% to 47.5%.

Victor received 1.9% of the vote, while 1.9% of voters were unsure. Kelly also led among Independents, 47% to 44.2 %, according to the Big Data Poll; however, Kelly attracted less Republican voters than Masters, just 8.2%.

Big Data Poll Director Richard Baris clarified on his talk show “Inside the Numbers” that Masters’ lead stemmed from his slight lead in Maricopa County.

This is a strong support cushion in Pima County with elderly people who did not agree with Kelly’s propaganda on Social Security. Masters’ inroads with Hispanic voters, despite trailing a little, came out to 48.8% to 46.2%.

He also hypothesized that Victor’s withdrawal and endorsement of Masters could be decisive, as his fans would support Masters. “The race is quite close,” Baris added.

Libertarian Candidate Backs Masters

On November 1, Victor pulled out and backed Masters.

“At my request, Blake Masters and I engaged in an unplanned, candid, recorded conversation and an exchange of thoughts on a range of themes,” Victor declared in a statement published by the Arizona Republic.

“After this conversation, I have concluded it is in the greatest interests of liberty and harmony for me to renounce my candidacy and warmly endorse Blake Masters for the United States Senate. I plan to aid Blake’s election in whatever practical way I can.”

Victor scored single digits during the entire election and was never considered a serious contender.

Masters declared in a response to the New York Times on Tuesday, “This is yet another big boost of enthusiasm as we solidify our support.”
