Although the midterms are months away, there’s still much talk about the 2024 presidential election.
At this rate, even Democrats are looking forward to having a new president in office. Biden’s fallen out of favor with his own party, due to his failures to deliver on issues such as abortion, free community college, climate change, and more.
Meanwhile, the GOP has differing views on whether or not Trump should run for office.
There certainly exists a subsection of Republicans who are in favor of a second Trump term; yet, other Republicans would like to see Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis or others take a shot at the White House in 2024.
Meanwhile, there is a reasonable plurality of Americans who don’t believe either Biden or Trump should be in office again, per The Hill.

In 2024, both Biden and Trump are expected to run for a second term as president.
However, a brand new poll by Yahoo News and YouGov shows that 35% of Americans believe a second Biden term would stand as “the worst thing” America could endure; meanwhile, 37% of US citizens also said the same thing about a second Trump term.

At this moment, Vice President Kamala Harris widely stands as the heir apparent to run for the White House in 2024 if Biden doesn’t. Meanwhile, on the Republican side, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis leads polls without Trump for the 2024 election (and a few including the former president as well).
Predictably, the majority of Democrats are horrified at the prospect of a second Trump term, whereas most Republicans share the same terror at the notion of Biden getting a second stint in the White House.
The Midterms
Amid speculations about who’s running in the 2024 presidential election, the midterm races in November are very much part of this conversation as well.
Typically, presidential candidacy declarations occur after the midterms are over.
However, some Republicans have warned that if Trump declares his candidacy ahead of the midterms, it will ultimately energize the Democratic base and shut down the momentum Republicans presently have.

This is such a concern within the GOP that the Republican National Committee (RNC) said weeks ago it wouldn’t cover the legal dues of the former president if he announces he’s running ahead of the midterms.
Meanwhile, progressives who are displeased with Biden are asking him to confirm, before the midterms, that he won’t seek reelection.
Democrats with this perspective believe this early confirmation from Biden will be the best way for the party to determine which candidate should be their nominee in 2024.
