The Department of Defense slammed Joe Biden and his team for claiming without evidence that they have not received all of the information they need.

The President-elect Joe Biden was slammed by the Department of Defense, due to his unsupported claims that the Biden team is not getting all of the information needed from the outgoing administration necessary in national security areas.

In response to these claims, Chris Miller, the acting Secretary of Defense, rebuked Biden’s claims, stating that the U.S. officials in fact have been giving Biden’s team more resources than they have requested. Miller also stated that the Department had given Biden’s team access to all the information that they needed and even schedules meetings with them.

Chris Miller, who is the acting Secretary of Defense, made a statement in response to these claims stating that the Department of Defense had in fact conducted 164 interviews with over 400 officials and provided over 5,000 pages of documents, which is for more than initially requested by Biden’s transition team.

Miller also added that the Department of Defense’s efforts have already surpassed the effort they have to the recent administration with over three weeks to go. The DOD also said that on top of that, they have been consistently scheduling additional meetings in the remaining days of the transition period and has been answering any requests for information.

“Our DOD political and career officials have been working with the utmost professionalism to support transition activities in a compressed schedule, and they will continue to do so in a transparent and collegial manner that upholds the finest traditions of the Department,” Miller said. He continued stating that the American people expect nothing less, which he remains committed to.

However, despite these statements, Biden claimed, “My team needs a clear picture of our force posture around the world and our operations to deter our enemies. We need full visibility into the budget planning underway at the Defense Department and other agencies in order to avoid any window of confusion or catch up that our adversaries may try to exploit.”

Biden also claimed without evidence that starting from the beginning, they have already been experiencing roadblocks from the political leadership of the DOD and the Office of the Management and Budget. He alleged that the Biden team is not getting all of the information needed from the outgoing administration necessary in national security areas. In the previous week, Biden also said the same claim stating, “The Defense Department won’t even brief us on many things.”

Meanwhile, the Department of Defense responded to Biden’s claims stating that they were “patently false.” Chris Miller of the Department of Defense also said, “The Department will continue to provide the information and meetings necessary to ensure the continuity of government. As we’ve said, meetings will begin again in early January, and in fact, we’ve begun scheduling them.”

In addition to this, Miller also stated that the Biden team has agreed to a holiday break from meetings and briefings. However, despite this, the Biden team continued to claim that “there was no mutually agreed-upon holiday break.”

In the previous administration, Biden has been widely criticized in the areas of foreign policy and national security matters. Obama administration officials have also slammed him for being wrong.

Robert Gates, who worked as the defense secretary for the Obama administration, supported said claims stating that Biden has been wrong on “nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the last four decades.”
