Paul Pelosi, husband to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, was attacked with a hammer in his San Francisco residence.
This was allegedly orchestrated to target Speaker Pelosi. During the attack, the suspect was asking for Nancy Pelosi, but ended up hitting Paul once he failed to find the speaker.
Paul Pelosi Faces Violent Attack
As per the San Francisco police chief William Scott, the attacker named David DePape is facing multiple charges, including attempted homicide, elder abuse, burglary, and assault with a deadly weapon.
Scott claimed when Paul called 911, police had an intuition that this was a high-priority call, which urged them to take immediate action.
The violent, heinous attack on Paul Pelosi, the Speaker's husband, needs to be denounced in the strongest possible terms BY BOTH SIDES.

When the police arrived at the scene, DePape was attacking Paul with the hammer. However, police immediately disarmed the attacker and arrested him.
Similarly, the police asked for additional reinforcement and the medical team to assist Paul. The motive of the attack is still unclear.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson of Paul Pelosi, Drew Hammill, thanked law enforcement for their timely response while asking for privacy for the whole Pelosi family.
Hammill also stated doctors already performed surgery to repair the skull fracture and other injuries of Paul, so he is expected to be discharged soon.
Likewise, Hammill also thanked everyone who extended their good wishes to the Pelosi family after the violent attack.
One anonymous source told Fox News the attacker was searching for Speaker Pelosi when he came to attack. After intruding into the house from the back door, DePape was continuously asking the whereabouts of Nancy Pelosi.
Some sources told local media outlets the attacker had a whole list of politicians he wanted to attack. Furthermore, law enforcement authorities also found a manifesto of DePape, which had anti-government beliefs.
US Capitol Police released their own statement, noting they are collaborating with the FBI and San Francisco police to investigate the incident. Nancy Pelosi was present in Washington, DC, at the time of the attack.
Bipartisan Lawmakers Condemned Attack on Pelosi
Meanwhile, lawmakers from both parties condemned the attack on Paul Pelosi. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer stated he spoke with Speaker Pelosi and expressed his deep condolences on the attack.
This is an outrage and our hearts are with the entire Pelosi family. We pray Paul will make a full recovery. There can be no tolerance for violence against public officials or their families. This man should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law https://t.co/3mJ8xmGmbT

Similarly, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell asserted he is horrified by the attack and happy with the timely recovery of Paul Pelosi. The White House also established President Biden is praying for the Pelosi family after the dangerous attack.
California Governor Gavin Newsom said the attack on Paul Pelosi depicts prevailing polarization in American society. All political leaders who are perpetuating violence should be held accountable, Newsom added.
This is not the first time Pelosi’s San Francisco home has been targeted in recent times. Last year, an unknown person spray-painted Pelosi’s home with slogans that demanded Universal Basic Income and coronavirus stimulus checks.
The attacker also threw a pig’s head on Pelosi’s door.
