Operation Warp Speed, an initiative launched by The White House under President Trump said every American will be able to have the COVID-19 vaccine by the end of June 2021.

According to the director of supply of Operation Warp Speed, Lt. General Paul A. Ostrowski, the first doses of the vaccine will be rolled out in December to the high-risk areas after it gets FDA approval. After distributing it to these highly affected cities and states, the vaccine will be slowly be dished out to the remaining public.

The director also told CNBC that there would be enough vaccine for everyone in the US by the end of June 2021.

Ostrowski said, “We’ll have over 300 million doses available to the American public before then.”

In the past month, two US pharmaceutical companies, Pfizer and Moderna, revealed that their vaccine is 90% effective. Other than these US pharmaceutical companies, a British company, AstraZeneca, also stated that their vaccine is 70% effective.

Then on Monday, Moderna already filed for FDA approval. President Trump immediately responded by urging the FDA to act “quickly” to have the vaccine authorized so it can be out to the masses.

In relation to this, the President tweeted on Monday, “Moderna now applying for Emergency Vaccine Approval… FDA MUST ACT QUICKLY!!!”

This coronavirus vaccine roll-out program is the largest immunization that the country has ever had to undertake. Although there still has been no clear cut distribution plan on how the government will hand out millions of these doses, US shipping companies are already preparing to transport the vaccines.

However, despite this breakthrough, Only 51% of Americans are willing to take the vaccine, according to the recent poll by Pew Research.

Meanwhile, some states like New York are already insisting on having the vaccine before they let the public access it.

In an interview with Dr. Tal Zaks, Moderna Chief Medical Officer, he said, “Operation Warp Speed has been a great modern-day miracle.”’

In addition to this, Dr. Zaks said that Moderna’s data had shown a 100% success rate in preventing severe coronavirus cases. The filing in the FDA sets Moderna’s vaccine as the second vaccine that will likely receive U.S. emergency use authorization this 2020.

Dr. Zaks also said that he believes that Moderna’s vaccine is “highly efficacious” and that they have the data to prove it.

“We expect to be playing a major part in turning around this pandemic.” The Moderna Chief Medical Officer said.

The government under the Trump administration had been working through Operation Warp Speed since the pandemic has started. They have been pushing to make one or more corona vaccine available as soon as possible.

With the possibility of one or more vaccines becoming available soon, CDC has published some information about these upcoming vaccines. Including among this information is a statement assuring the people that the U.S. vaccine for coronavirus had safety as its top priority.

CDC wrote that the US vaccine safety system ensures that all vaccines are as safe as possible. CDC is also working with partners at all levels, including healthcare associations, on flexible coronavirus vaccination programs.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also assured that their goal is to give everyone easy access to the coronavirus vaccine as soon as larger quantities are available. They also added that experts are currently working on how the vaccine will be best distributed in a fair, ethical, and transparent manner.
