Are gun owners more likely to be racist than non-gun owners? It’s a question that’s been tackled in a new study from the University of Wisconsin; their conclusions are going to be disturbing to many gun owners.
However, the most disturbing thing about the study is it’s full of inaccuracies and lies. As always, the leftist bias of those conducting and designing the study biases and ruins any useful results.
Intellectuals Advance Anti-Gun Argument
Obviously, people of all ethnicities and economic classes legally own weapons in the United States. Though one of these studies by the University of Wisconsin tries to push the idea that white gun owners generally distrust and dislike black people, buying guns due to this fear.
This argument can be easily traced to its true motive.
As gun control legislation has fallen flat amid attempts to blame lawful gun owners for mass shootings, academics and politicians are now trying to pivot to the idea that white people who own firearms are hate-filled bigots.
This is obviously untrue in the vast majority of cases. However, the new study from Wisconsin says that former slave counties which still had slavery by 1860 have much higher rates of gun ownership today.
They go further: the more slaves existed per county historically by the 1860s, the more guns are owned in that county today, generally speaking.
The narrative is simple: white gun owners bought more guns out of hate and fear of freed black slaves before and after the Civil War. A century and a half later, that trend still continues in these historically racist states.
The Constitution finds it unconscionable that you would consider further restrictions on legal gun ownership

Here’s the Problem With the Study…
The study is full of problems, most of all the fact that the fastest growing demographic of new legal gun owners in the United States is black Americans. Are they racist against black people?
Furthermore, tying a history of slave ownership to gun ownership doesn’t hold up under scrutiny for various other reasons.
The South had more slave states, but also has a long history of strong gun ownership that’s unrelated to slavery for the vast majority of people.
Also, what about people who own guns and move to counties that historically had a lot of slaves? Did they move to those counties due to seeking out fellow racists to shoot at empty beer cans with on a Saturday night while hollering the N-word?
Color me skeptical.
Gun ownership is an actual right and yet you want to restrict and in many cases eliminate it

The Bottom Line
Leftist academics and politicians haven’t been able to take our guns yet; so, they want to frame us all as racist. It hasn’t worked before and it won’t work this time, but that doesn’t mean they won’t keep trying.
Just remember that they are lying and they know it.
