Last Wednesday, Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) delivered a powerful speech condemning House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for what he characterized as a “deeply partisan” decision to delay the COVID relief for the American people.
The Republican representative also roasted Democrat leaders who have been imposing lockdowns that are killing small businesses. He then added that Americans had enough, and it is time to stand up against what he called as “hypocrisy of these so-called ‘leaders'”, that deliberately harms the people they claim to represent.
Crenshaw said of Pelosi, “She would say over and over again that nothing is better than something. She was honest; she honestly believed that nothing was better than something. But better for who? Not for the American people, that’s for sure.”

When Crenshaw talked about the lockdowns and the Democrats who have been imposing them, he raised his concerns and said, “this madness has to stop.” He continued that these lockdowns are an arbitrary application of the executive orders that is profoundly unconstitutional.
During his speech, Crenshaw started by saying, “I rise today to unequivocally condemn in the strongest possible terms the actions of the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi.” He then added that Pelosi was “holding the American people hostage for political gain.”
In addition to this, Crenshaw also claimed that as the American people are suffering due to the lockdowns, Pelosi was withholding relief for political purposes. He then emphasized how Pelosi admitted this part out loud.
The Texas Representative said that just last week, Pelosi obstructed the bi-partisan targeted relief bills. He then quoted Pelosi, “don’t characterize what we did before as a mistake; this is not a mistake; it was a decision.” But then this week, when Pelosi was asked why does she finally agrees on the COVID relief, Crenshaw said that her response was simple, “a new president.”
Crenshaw then claimed that for House Speaker Pelosi, it was never about what was best for the people and never about honest policy disagreement. But instead, it was about stopping President Trump from getting any credit. He said, “It was about politics.”
Then the Republican representative made bold allegations against Pelosi. He claimed the Speaker made a simple calculation “she bet that if she could keep Congress from reaching a deal on COVID relief, that would hurt President Trump and Republicans and give her more power.”

During the powerful speech, Rep. Crenshaw also mentioned the video of Angela Marsden, Pineapple Hill Saloon and Grill’s owner in Los Angeles. He said that this heartbreaking video shows how Democrats shut down her outdoor dining while a Hollywood studio sets up a shop just right next door.
Crenshaw also brought up the “hypocrisy” of the lockdowns and its double standards as big businesses, as he claimed, were allowed to operate freely. Meanwhile, small businesses were “shamed into submission” and told that they are the ones that should sacrifice to slow the spread of the virus.
In addition to this, Crenshaw continued and stated that these actions done by the Democrats are nonsense, as study after study had shown that outdoor dining is safe and that outbreaks are not caused by small businesses, gyms, restaurants, and salons.
Crenshaw was then quoted, saying, “This madness has to stop..Americans have had enough. It is time to stand up against the hypocrisy of these so-called “leaders” deliberately harming the citizens they claim to represent and to condemn the deeply partisan actions of the Speaker of this House.”
