Thousands of Trump supporters flocked the Capitol to support the President’s legal challenges and voting fraud claims. While the Trump supporters gathered in the area, counter-protesters arrived, and violence erupted.

Last Saturday, thousands of Trump supporters came out to march at the Million MAGA March as a form of support to Trump’s claim of election fraud and to overturn President-elect Joe Biden’s victory.

President Trump then called out the Police and told them to “do your job” as he blasted on Twitter last Saturday night, calling the counterprotesters as “Antifa scum.” He also called out D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and accused her of not doing her job.

The President also voiced out his concerns on how the media ignored the crowds who attended the Million MAGA March to show their support for him.

Trump took it on Twitter and wrote, “Radical Left ANTIFA SCUM was easily rebuffed today by the big D.C. MAGA Rally crowd, only to return at night, after 99% of the crowd had left, to assault elderly people and families. Police got there, but late. Mayor is not doing her job!”

He then fumed and took it on Twitter, saying the free and fair press is gone in the country, and the press only writes about what they wanted to write about. “SUPPRESSION!” Trump wrote.

The President also stated how the Media hardly discussed the tens and thousands of people that formed organically, march in D.C., and other parts of the country!

At noon on Saturday, Pro-Trump supporters also gathered in front of Freedom Plaza, listening to speeches before they started marching toward the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, counterprotesters and left-wing activists also arrived. It caused minor skirmishes of pushing, and then shoving broke out. But then, Police formed lines to separate the two groups.

As the night fell, tensions rose, and multiple police lines blocked Trump supporters from going into the Black Lives Matter Plaza. However, those who managed to go inside the Black Lives Matter Plaza were doused with water as they saw their MAGA hats and pro-Trump flags snatched.

The encounters turned more and more violent as groups of Proud Boys assembled and were joined by tens of other Trump supporters. Many left-wing supporters then faced off with them, targeting supporters who remained. The left-wing groups were dressed in all black and were seen attacking anyone wearing a Trump attire.

A large group of counterprotesters also gathered. They were seen wearing black and carrying umbrellas, a trademark tactic of Antifa. With a bullhorn, the group then chanted, “No Trump, no KKK, no fascist USA.”

A large banner was also seen displayed by the counterprotester showing the circled “A” symbol of anarchists. Meanwhile, other counterprotesters have signs which show support for BLM.

Videos that were then posted on social media showed demonstrators and counterdemonstrators trading punches and slaps.

During clashes between Trump supporters and Antifa members in the middle of the street, a police officer arrested a member of the Proud Boys.

Chaos and violence erupted everywhere in the scene, and the ugly picture continued for several minutes until police officers arrived to break up the groups.

Cops showed up in riot gear in an attempt to keep the two opposing groups separated as violence worsened. Trump supporters and counterprotesters continued shouting at each other even after being separated by a police line.

Police officers were also seen surrounding the entrance to The Capitol Hilton near the White House. Inside the Capitol were Trump supporters who were holding flags to taunt counterprotesters outside. They then rallied outside to sing the national anthem.

Meanwhile, one counter-protestor was detained after a Trump signage was set on fire. Some protesters was then seen slashing tires and defaced a truck with a red Trump hat inside.

To push protesters back from the hotel, Police were forced to use a chemical agent and more arrests were made.

Just after midnight, a smaller scuffle broke out again when a crowd of counterprotesters bickered with a man who is holding a Trump flag as he hung from a pole. Police were then seen tackling two people on the sidewalk.
