China seems to have good reasons to think that Joe Biden will go easier on them as they celebrated his ascent to Presidency and mocked Trump’s exit.
As President Trump was preparing to leave the White House in the early morning hours of Wednesday, the official news agency of Communist China, China Xinhua News, mocked Trump’s farewell and unreservedly celebrated Joe Biden’s ascent to the Presidency, Tweeting, “Good Riddance, Donald Trump!”

The Trump administration was not hesitant to confront China numerous times. For instance, this week Trump administration announced that China was committing crimes against humanity and genocide in its treatment of the country’s Uyghur population in the Xinjiang region. Last August, the State Department under the Trump administration appointed the Confucius Institute U.S. Center as a foreign mission of the Chinese Communist Party.
Last July 2020, a stern message from Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was also sent to the Chinese Communist Party proclaiming that China’s territorial claims to offshore resources across most of the South China sea are “completely unlawful.”
Pompeo said in that message, “The United States champions a free and open Indo-Pacific. Today we are strengthening U.S. policy in a vital, contentious part of that region — the South China Sea. We are making clear: Beijing’s claims to offshore resources across most of the South China Sea are completely unlawful, as is its campaign of bullying to control them.”

These undaunted steps made by the previous administration appear to be the cause for China to celebrate Trump’s exit and Biden’s ascent. Then before the Senate Intelligence Committee at a hearing on her nomination for Director of National Intelligence on Tuesday, Avril Haines stated that Joe Biden wants to view the Chinese Communist Party not as an enemy but as a “global competitor.”
Then in December, Biden stated that the U.S. should not “punish” China for the Coronavirus pandemic, saying that his concern from the beginning is to make it real clear to China that there are international rules and that ” if you want to play by, we’ll play with you.” He also said that he has already mentioned it in the past and met with China Communist President Xi Jinping more times than anybody had.
In an interview, last September, Jake Tapper of CNN asked Biden, “Do you think in retrospect that you were naive about China?” He said, “let me ask you about China because in 2011 when you were vice president, you said, ‘It is in our self-interest that China continues to prosper.’” He continued and stated that many people think that letting China into the World Trade Organization will allow China to take advantage of the United States by using the country’s open trade deals against the United States.

Biden answered, “No, here’s the thing. In the context of that, we want China to grow.”
China Xinhua News also warned American politicians on Wednesday to stop targeting China. In an article, they wrote politicians who attempt to do this are “weak on the inside.”
The News article said, “it should be noted, above all, that those politicians have clearly overestimated their ability to influence the course of China-U.S. relations. Outwardly, they appear to be tough, but they are actually weak on the inside. They have also underestimated China’s strength and determination to take all measures to safeguard its sovereignty, security and development interests.”
Xinhua News also wrote, “In a new action against China days before the U.S. government transition, certain U.S. politicians are making up reasons of reducing risks from so-called espionage to minimize procurement of Chinese goods and services.” The News report also added that the trade war with China has “failed to boost the U.S. economy, but instead led to a slowdown in U.S. economic growth and an increase of job losses.”
Breaking: Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a congratulatory message to President-elect Biden.
"Promoting the healthy and stable development of China-US relations is…in the fundamental interests of both peoples,” state-run Xinhua news quoted Xi as saying.

However, the Xinhua News report did not mention anything about the coronavirus, which was trained back to Wuhan China and destroyed the American economy. As the news agency mocked the Trump administration, they also said, “the anti-China policy of the current U.S. administration will only end in failure,” they concluded, “On a final note: good riddance to the current U.S. administration and its final madness.”
