Coronavirus continues to serve as a game-changing factor in much of the political arena. The 2020 presidential election is not exempt from this, seeing as the election process has traditionally involved large gatherings. With the threatening presence of COVID-19, left-wingers are now scrambling for alternatives to their Democrat National Convention.
During a recent interview, 2020 frontrunner Joe Biden suggested the idea of hosting a virtual Democrat National Convention in August. This suggestion comes as leaders within the party have previously discussed scrapping the convention altogether.
According to Biden, massive amounts of people heading to the convention is not safe or advisable, due to coronavirus.
Biden on the Idea of Virtualizing the Democrat National Convention
At this point in the 2020 presidential election process, Joe Biden is all but certain to win the Democrat Party’s nomination. Aside from having a major numerical advantage in delegates, the left-wing establishment keeps pulling strings on Biden’s behalf.

When doing a sit-down with ABC’s This Week, the former vice president proposed a “virtual convention.” According to Biden, this is something Democrats should really think about, due to COVID-19. Meanwhile, President Trump, the coronavirus task force, and other health officials continue taking on this virus day in and day out.
Will the DNC Follow Biden’s Advice?
At this time, the DNC has yet to confirm or deny that a virtual convention will take place. Democratic National Convention Committee CEO Joe Solmonese did release an interesting statement though.
According to Solmonese, the Democrat Party is observing the COVID-19 situation in order to determine the best means for “a safe and successful convention.” Likewise, the committee CEO stated that leading Democrats will heed the advice of emergency responders and medical experts.
Biden’s recommendations about a virtual Democrat National Convention arrive as more Americans question his cognitive abilities.
