In her recent interview with Anderson Cooper of CNN, far-left Democrat Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez coined another term in reference to women, thereby inciting criticism from social media users.
Ocasio-Cortez criticizes Governor Abbott’s Heartbeat Act, claiming that Abbott comes from a position of “deep ignorance”
On Tuesday, in an interview with CNN, Ocasio-Cortez called women, “menstruating people” as she criticized Governor Abbott’s Heartbeat Act. The law which was recently passed bans abortion once a heartbeat is felt from the fetus, which could occur within six weeks of pregnancy.
According to Ocasio-Cortez, the abortion law does not support life. Instead, she insisted that the law was about controlling women’s bodies and “any menstruating person.”
Ocasio-Cortez continued, claiming that the law is merely about controlling individuals and ensuring that women like her, together with other “menstruating persons,” in the country will not have the freedom to decide for their bodies.
The Democrat congresswoman added that she does not know if Abbott is knowledgeable about a “menstruating person’s” body. Ocasio-Cortez then alleged that Abbott talks from a position of “deep ignorance,” adding that it is ignorance that hurts people.
Critics mocked Ocasio-Cortez: her logic is mind-boggling
After Ocasio-Cortez’s statement, critics were quick to mock the congresswoman for coming up with the term and using it at the same time with the term “woman.”
Yesterday you accused the GOP of reducing women to “uterus holders,” and here you are calling us “menstruating people.” Get a hold of yourself, child. You sound disgusting. https://t.co/KsdLJwfqsM

A conservative radio anchor, Dana Loesch, wrote in a tweet that it is hard to say the abortion law is an attack on the existence of women, while the congresswoman is concurrently nullifying the existence of women by saying “menstruating person.”
Clay Travis also talked about the statement made by the congresswoman. On his podcast, Travis emphasized how broken Ocasio-Cortez’s logic is.
The conservative radio host claimed that during the interview, you can almost hear how the congresswoman thinks; in her head, she was probably thinking that instead of saying “woman” she would say “menstruating person.”
Meanwhile, Allison Hedges, producer of CNN, praised the congresswoman on how she disemboweled the Texas abortion law and attacked Governor Abbott. Hedges likewise claimed that six weeks of pregnancy meant merely being two weeks late on your period.
After the interview with CNN, Ocasio-Cortez used the term more in her tweet.

Ocasio-Cortez claimed that her statement incited anger from Republicans because they are supporting the patriarchal idea that females are mere “uterus holders”.
The Democrat representative then noted that others can keep getting mad at her all they want. However, AOC later suggested they all of the people criticizing her should “grow up” instead.
During the interview, the congresswoman also likened the Texas Heartbeat Act to “sexual assault.” AOC then began claiming that both the law and sexual assault are bolstering control over a person.
